If you perform locates, you are awash in data that you can use to improve your damage prevention program.  In this presentation, we’ll look at both common and uncommon measures that you can use to improve your performance and quality.  You’ll learn about common challenges, including using historical ticket data to predict staffing and budget demand, understanding late tickets, load levelling to improve success, and more.  We will discuss these key measures – and the applicability of the old saying, “You get what you measure.”  For example, utilities commonly report on late tickets as a percentage of current ticket volume.  However, late tickets are often a symptom of a different problem such as overburdened staff, an excess number of emergencies, high number of long-running project tickets, or other factors.  Defining and measuring those factors can have a surprising impact on reducing the number of late tickets.  You’ll learn to think about the data that’s already on your one call tickets in a new way.
